Wendy Williams is smiling through the storm.
For the first time since her guardian’s recent claims that she is “permanently incapacitated,” the retired talk show host was spotted on Sunday in Fort Lauderdale, all smiles as she grabbed food from Sho’nuff Oysters alongside her nephew, Travis Finnie.
In an Instagram video shared by blogger Antoine Edwards, Williams, 60, was seen dressed to impress in an army green jacket, bold red lipstick, and eye-catching accessories.
This rare sighting comes as Williams faces legal battles involving her mental health and a controversial Lifetime documentary, Where Is Wendy Williams?.
Her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, alleged in a court filing last month in November that Williams’ cognitive condition had worsened and that the network exploited her during filming, paying her only $82,000 while making millions.
The filing also revealed Williams had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia, impairing her memory and behaviour. Morrissey has accused A+E Networks of failing to obtain proper consent for Williams’ participation in the project, a claim the network has denied, arguing it was Morrissey’s responsibility to protect her.
